WebScience, six years on from its original declaration and claim staking, is still a young and emerging community. The territory is being marked, researchers and academics are collecting and analysing data and publications and academic debates are emerging.
The observations of ‘Academic tribes and territories’ is highly relevant to this fast evolving field. If web science is to grow, it must incorporate and reassemble multiple dialogues extending across the whole disciplinary area.
It is the aim of this event which will be held
Among the various stakeholders will hold its session "How the Web Will Revolutionize Society":
it will be a time discussion and surely fascinating debates, without slides.
We will talk about Open Data, government, digital rights management, new social movements, and the social and political role of scientists/research against the larger background of a rapidly changing society.
